Chuck E. Cheese & the Ticket Blaster

Cheryl Kirkness, Moms & Munchkins

My husband, son and I have been going to Chuck E. Cheese for close to a year now. During our first visit we noticed the Ticket Blaster machine and I knew my husband was wishing he was a kid again so he could go in and try it out. For those of you not familiar with the Ticket Blaster, it’s like a tall plastic wind tunnel that you stand in while tickets fly around inside and you try to catch as many as you can within 30 seconds. It’s typically only open to children who have booked a birthday party package. Read more »

Mainly Mother Goose at The Regina Public Library

Mainly Mother Goose - RPL
Since I work from home, my little guy and I get to spend our days at home together. I feel so fortunate that I am able to stay home with him but I often worry that I don’t give him enough opportunities to interact with other children. I’ve been trying to take him out more and this week we decided to stop by the Mainly Mother Goose program at the Sherwood Village Library. Read more »

Sledding Adventures

Cheryl Kirkness

During the winter months, I seem to need extra motivation to get out of the house. I work from home so my son and I get to spend our days at home together. There always seems to be a lot going on around Regina but I often choose to stay home and hibernate rather than go out on new adventures. I’m trying to make some changes and take my son out on more adventures around the city. Since we were lucky enough to have some warmer temperatures last week, we went out on a few sleigh rides to enjoy the snow before it’s all gone.

This winter has been a little

This winter has been a little harder than most to spend time outside.  So much snow and so cold.  But we do our best.  Our almost three year old loves to go "snow boarding" as she calls it (tobaganing). Luckily the vast amounts of snow make that pretty easy.  I don't mind getting bundled up to take her out to have some fun in the snow.

One day, in the middle of a cold spell she suddenly decided she wanted to go out and make snow angels.  Sure, sounds like fun.  It took me a solid 20 minutes to get us both in our snow clothes.  We went out, she made 3 or 4 snow angels and then announced we were done.  So 20 minutes of dressing up for 5 minutes of play outside.... Oh well, she was pretty proud of her snow angels.
