Fafard Park in Northwest Regina

Cheryl Kirkness

Fafard Park

There is a new area in development in Northwest Regina called Skyview (it is behind Lakewood off of McCarthy Blvd) that has a new fun playground! This new park is called Fafard Park and it’s filled with all sorts of goodies!

So far, Fafard Park has the tallest slide that we’ve found at a playground in Regina. It also has a smaller slide that is the perfect size for toddlers. My little guy was afraid of going down a slide alone until he found this little one but now he’s a sliding pro!

There is also a musical area of the park with drums, oversized maracas, a horn that sounds like a train and more. This is fun for both the little & older kids.

The park has a baby swing plus a large toddler swing for those that have outgrown the baby swing but aren’t big enough for the regular swings yet.

In addition to the 4 slides, the 4 swings, the music area and the climbing there is a Magic 8 Wheel – my favourite part of the park! Have you ever played with a Magic 8 ball? This is just like that! Simply ask it a question and spin the wheel for an answer that is sure to make you giggle. We always ask it a lot of questions when we visit the park and always laugh at every answer.

The playground area is filled with chunky wooden shavings and a cushiony floor. The housing area is still in development but the park is ready for new visitors! There is a lot of green space around as well for a game of ball or an afternoon picnic.

What is your favourite park in Regina? We’re always looking for new ones to discover!
