My son and I recently visited the South Leisure Centre for some fun at the indoor playground. Each Friday (from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.) they welcome parents & children (under 5 years old) to drop-in and join them at the indoor playground. It is located in a large recreation room and includes plenty of activities for the kids like outdoor style playhouses, slides, small climbing structures, ride-on vehicles, ExerSaucers for the babies, toys and so much more!
It is a really casual setting where kids can run around and play while the parents visit. You can come and go as you like so don’t worry if you have trouble getting up & ready to get out of the house by 9:00 a.m.
My son isn’t around kids his age often so he mostly played alone but he had a great time trying out all of the toys. Even though he’s still a little shy when it comes to interacting with other children, I think it’s great to get him out of the house and around other people his own size. Hopefully he’ll start interacting with the other children when he starts speaking more.
Not only is this a great (& free!) program for kids but it’s also a great place for moms to socialize as well. Are you new to Regina and looking to meet more moms with children your age? This program would be a great place to start!
I hadn’t been inside the South Leisure Centre before this trip. Last year we spent a lot of time just outside the centre at the spray pad and park. It is our favourite spray pad in the city and we can’t wait until spray pad season starts again.
We plan on making the South Leisure Indoor Playground a regular activity for us every week and I hope to meet some of you there!
