Mackenzie Art Gallery

Can you believe that I’ve lived in Regina for 25 years but I had never been to the MacKenzie Art Gallery? I read about their Family Studio Sunday program and decided to take my little guy there. The thought of taking him in to an art gallery was a little scary since I was worried that he’d wreck something. He’s two years old now so he can be a little mischievous! Read more »

KinderBuzz - Saskatchewan Science Centre Blog

The Saskatchewan Science Centre is one of those places where you a could spend couple of hours playing and lose track of time. We’ve been taking my son there since he was old enough to walk and he is always amazed at everything there is to see and do there. Even at 2 years old, there are plenty of activities to keep him entertained.  Read more »

We live in the North end of the city so when we go swimming we always go to the North West Leisure pool. I had heard that the Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre had a great pool for kids so we ventured over there last weekend to check it out. Pardon the poor quality of my photos, my camera battery was dead so I had to use my cell phone. Read more »

Soaking Up Sun at the Regina Floral Conservatory

By:

I think I speak for a lot of Regina parents when I say – enough with the snow already! Doesn’t it seem like this winter season has been dragging on for way too long? Even my husband, who loves winter sports, is begging for all of the snow to melt.

Earth Day in Regina

By:

Rita Holowenko

Earth Day is this April 22, 2013.  Helping save our planet doesn’t have to be daunting – just remember to shut it off.  Shut off the water when you’re brushing your teeth, shut the car off when parked, and shut off the lights when you leave a room.  And our favourite, shut off the electronics and spend time outside in nature. Kids will gain a whole new respect for the outdoors and the earth when they play outdoors.

Here are some family friendly events for the family to celebrate Earth Day: Read more »

California Adventures

By:

Let me start by saying that I’m really tired of the snow in Regina! Sure, snow around Christmas helps me get into the holiday spirit but I’d be fine if it started to melt after that. This winter has seemed really long and cold so my family is looking forward to the days when we can wander down to our local park, go for bike rides and visit the spray pads. Let’s just say that we have ants in our pants for real spring weather to arrive. Read more »

Chuck E. Cheese & the Ticket Blaster

By:

Cheryl Kirkness, Moms & Munchkins

My husband, son and I have been going to Chuck E. Cheese for close to a year now. During our first visit we noticed the Ticket Blaster machine and I knew my husband was wishing he was a kid again so he could go in and try it out. For those of you not familiar with the Ticket Blaster, it’s like a tall plastic wind tunnel that you stand in while tickets fly around inside and you try to catch as many as you can within 30 seconds. It’s typically only open to children who have booked a birthday party package. Read more »
