Regina Folk Festival

3 days, 5 stages, 30 acts.

From August 5th to 7th, Victoria Park will be full of music, people, culture, talent and art at the 2011 Regina Folk Festival (RFF) with free daytime concerts,  children's area, arts market and food court. It's an all ages event, and children 12 and under get in free!

On Saturday and Sunday, the children's area will offer fabulous music, dance, crafts, and activities. There will be interactive theatre, as well as dance and voice workshops.

On the Children's Stage

If you grew up in the 80's and 90's, then Fred Penner was probably one of your favourite children's entertainer on CBC.  This year you'll get a chance to see him on both the children's stage and the main stage. On the children's stage, he'll be hosting a workshop called "Storytelling with Fred Penner" at 4 PM on Sunday, August 7th. Besides being a family entertainer and storyteller, he is also a Member of the Order of Canada!

Once again, FadaDance returns to the RFF where they'll be hosting a contemporary dance workshop at 1:30 PM on Saturday and 2:30 PM on Sunday.

Be sure to check out Judy&Greg Improvisational Theatre at 1 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Eliza Doyle (The Hard Ramblers) will be performing at 12 PM on Saturday.

The Children's Stage will be hosted both days by Bonnie Logan, and will be entertaining for both children and parents.  Bonnie is a professional storyteller and musician.

About the Regina Folk Festival Inc.

The Regina Folk Festival (RFF) was first held way back in 1969 on the Regina Campus of the University of Saskatchewan.  Organized by a few individuals, the enthusiasm and support shown for this first event led to the creation of the Regina Guild of Folk Arts (RGFA).  Since that time, the organizing body was renamed to Regina Folk Festival Inc. and has continued to present both an annual festival (the Regina Folk Festival) and year-round music performances (the Regina Folk Festival Concert Series).  As a thirty something year old organization, RFF Inc. is one of Canada's most established music organizations and is proud to present Western Canada's longest running music festival.
